Varicose Veins - Venous Insufficiency
Varicose veins are enlarged, twisted veins. They occur when the valves in the veins don't work properly, causing blood to pool and build up from the feet, leading to the veins becoming swollen and visible. Symptoms of venous insufficiency can be swelling, feelings of heaviness and aching in the leg and in severe cases skin health changes or even ulceration.
Deep Vein Thrombosis
Deep vein thrombosis is a blood clot that forms in the major deep veins, commonly in one of the legs. It typically occurs when flow is slow or restricted and can be serious if it dislodges. Symptoms can include swelling, pain or tenderness, warmth and redness or discoloration of the affected leg.

Pelvic Congestion and Ovarian Veins
Pelvic Congestion Syndrome is a chronic pain syndrome in women with enlarged and conjested veins, particularly in the ovarian and uterine region. Symptoms are often described as a dull ache or heaviness, that worsens with standing or prolonged sitting, and may be accompanied by pain during or after intercourse, back pain, and varicose veins in the pelvic or leg area.
Iliac Veins and May Thurner Syndrome
May Thurner syndrome is a condition of the abdomen where the left iliac vein is compressed by the right common iliac artery, obstructing blood flow from the legs to the heart with a high risk of deep vein thrombosis. Typical symptoms are leg swelling, pain or heaviness and pelvic pain.

Testicular Veins
A varicocele is a condition characterized by swollen, enlarged veins in the scrotum, similar to varicose veins in the legs, that can sometimes lead to discomfort or fertility issues. The testicular vein can be assessed for suitability of treatment of varicoceles with a procedure called Embolisation.
Arm Veins
Ultrasound is the preferred imaging modality to diagnose blood clots in the arm or venous abnormalities due to its non-invasiveness, safety, and accuracy. Pain, swelling, redness or tender lumps can indicate the need for investigation.

Bypass Graft Mapping
The purpose of this study is to measure the maximum diameters of the superficial veins in the leg or arm to determine which ones would be suitable to use as a conduit for surgically bypassing a blocked artery.
Venous Skin Marking
Your varicose veins may need marking on the skin with a pre-operative pen to provide the surgeon with accurate locations of venous disease which is not visible on the surface. This technique uses precise mapping to facilitate your procedure.
