For Referring Doctors

Our Service

We accept referrals for all vascular ultrasound imaging and offer bulk billing for Medicare eligible patients. All diagnostic testing can often be completed on the same day. Our clinic is conveniently located with free parking and wheelchair access to ensure ease of patient attendance. To request referral pads for your practice, please contact us via our online form or phone us directly.

Our imaging reports are reviewed by Specialist Vascular Surgeon Dr Rick Bond, Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia, State Director of Vascular Surgery for Western Australia, and Head of Vascular Surgery at Fiona Stanley and Fremantle Hospitals. Dr Bond also serves as an examiner for the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS).

For medically urgent findings, the referring clinician will be contacted immediately, and a preliminary report will be provided prior to patient discharge. If the referring doctor is unavailable, the patient will be advised to attend the nearest emergency department, accompanied by a copy of the report.

She has also gained international experience within the UK NHS, collaborating in multidisciplinary teams at University Lewisham Hospital and Greenwich Hospital.

Amanda has contributed to research studies focusing on arteriovenous fistulas, aspiration catheters, and intravascular lithotripsy in partnership with Vascore, Corelab Black Forest, and the Yale Cardiovascular Research Group.

Our Sonographer’s strong time management skills and clinical expertise ensure seamless integration into your practice workflow. All scans are bulk billed for Medicare-eligible patients, with the option to complete multiple studies on the same day.

Following each scan, a preliminary worksheet will be reviewed with you in person, including the opportunity to discuss real-time images prior to patient consultation. Comprehensive final reports are completed at the conclusion of the session and sent for your signature. Once signed, reports are forwarded directly to your clinic administration.

Our Technology

We utilise the latest Philips 5500 series compact ultrasound system, renowned for its superior image quality and advanced diagnostic capabilities. This state-of-the-art technology supports high-resolution vascular imaging, enhancing diagnostic accuracy and clinical decision-making.

The Importance of Choosing a Vascular Sonographer

Sonographer training varies widely, and the accuracy of vascular imaging and diagnostic outcomes depends significantly on the expertise of the operator. Vascular Sonographers undergo specialised training exclusively focused on vascular ultrasound, culminating in the attainment of a Diploma in Vascular Medical Ultrasound.

Through extensive experience in dedicated vascular environments, these sonographers develop advanced clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and analytical skills, alongside highly refined technical proficiency. Their deep understanding of vascular anatomy and pathology enables them to navigate the complexities of imaging the circulatory system, often located in challenging anatomical regions and complicated by patient-specific factors.

This rigorous training and practical experience empower Vascular Sonographers to apply theoretical principles and clinical reasoning effectively, providing provisional and differential diagnoses critical for patient management.

At CoreWave Vascular, all scans are conducted exclusively by sonographers who hold this specialised Vascular Diploma. We do not employ sonographers with a General Diploma in Medical Ultrasound and supplementary 'vascular training,' as this does not equate to the comprehensive education required for vascular imaging excellence.
